Tashinga Campsite

A rustic retreat for nature lovers, Tashinga is in the perfect spot to witness both legendary sunrises and sunsets over Kariba.

Welcome to Tashinga Campsite

Set on a peninsula in the northwest, the park’s main campsite, Tashinga, is located close to reception and the shop. Campers enjoy the singular experience of witnessing Kariba’s famous sunrises and sunsets from the same spot while surrounded by free-roaming wildlife. There are herds of elephant, impala and bushbuck that also call the campsite home, alongside squirrels, numerous bird species and a resident leopard too. Fishing ‘kapenta’ rigs are glimpsed by their lamps bobbing in the distance at night, with the lake’s waters given over to the night’s darkness five days either side of full moon when the vessels return to their harbours.
